Fred has been involved in the roofing industry since 1974. He originally started as a labourer, then progressed to a foreman's position. In 1984, he started and operated his own roofing company, specializing in industrial, commercial and institutional reroofing projects. In 1997, he sold his roofing company and has since been involved in the roofing industry from a totally different perspective.
Currently self-employed in the roof consulting and quality assurance inspection field, Fred has the opportunity to view the various methods used by the roofing contractor during the replacement process. The existing roof consisted of steel deck - 6" to 8" of vermiculight, 1 1/2" I.S.O., 1/2" fiberboard with a rubberized membrane and felt topping.
